We Bought a Zoo (2011)

IMDB: "We Bought a Zoo"
This movie is one of the cutest, coziest movies I've ever seen! If you're looking for a feel-good movie for just you, your friends or your family, look no further! Matt Damon is awesome and he's no less awesome here. He's a little sweeter than he is in "The Departed" or the "Bourne" movies, but still Matt Damon! And another reason for watching this film: Scarlett Johansson!

This film is based on a true story about Benjamin Mee when he bought a zoo (hence the title). His wife died, his son is rebelling and he quits his job because his was sick of being treated with sympathy.
He wants a new start, a new story and that's when he finds a perfect home in the countryside. But it's not just a house, it's Rosemoor Wildlife Park (in real life, it's called Dartmoor Zoo). He meets the zoo-keepers and tries to get this zoo back to life, because it was shut-down two years before. So he has to make some tough decisions whilst he's trying to make his kids happy, especially his son who is does not like living there.

The Departed (2006)

IMDB: "The Departed"
On IMDBs Top 250 Movies
This movie contains so many awesome actors you wouldn't believe! And the plot it so twisted I don't want to give so much of it away. All I can say, besides a little bit of the story, is: watch it!

Jack Nicholson is The mafia boss of South Boston, Leonardo DiCaprio is undercover, Matt Damon is a corrupt cop, Mark Wahlberg is a jerk and Martin Scorsese is the genius behind it all!

I really don't know what else to say, because you should just see it for yourself! There's more about the movie on IMDB and it's on IMDB's Top 250 Movies.

Fast & Furious 7 (2015)

IMDB: "Fast & Furious 7"

The movie we've all been waiting for! Honestly, these are not my favorite movies. They're alright, but not quite my taste. Cars are cool, but I'm no motor-head. Reason I started watching these films: Vin Diesel. Reasons why I continued: Michelle Rodriguez and Paul Walker

The team is back, or as Dom (Vin Diesel) so often says: Family. Brian (Paul Walker) and his Mia (Jordana Brewster) and son are living the domestic life, but Brian "misses the bullets". And as we saw in the ending of "Fast & Furious 6" Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) comes back for revenge of his brother, Owen (Luke Evans). They meet Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russel) and he wants help finding "Gods Eye" who can track anyone, anywhere at any time!! A pretty useful tool to have if you're looking for someone! Specially when you have to find Shaw before he finds you

This is the last movie Paul Walker did. He almost finished the entire movie, but sadly not all of it. After he died, his brothers Caleb and Cody and other stunt-doubles finished the movie for him. And I have to say that they did a good job. I never thought I would cry when watching any of these movies, but in the end, I bawled like a baby.

This was a worthy and perfect ending for the franchise and for the late Paul Walker. And I hear rumours that they're making another one?! For Paul's sake.. Stop. Let him have this ending.

Focus (2015)

IMDB: "Focus"
I'm just happy Will Smith is back after being in "After Earth" which is one of the most terrible movies I've ever seen! And I'm certainly not complaining when Margot Robbie is on the big screen. That woman is breathtakingly beautiful and she can act!

Nicky (Will) is a brilliant con-artist and he meets this gorgeous woman, Jess (Margot) who turns out is trying to con him. When she finds out who he is, she desperately wants in on his "business" and a partnership is made. She is very good at what she does, but for some reason Nicky has to let her go.

After a couple of years, Nicky is "doing some business" and all off a sudden Jess shows up and throws him off his game. Will he be able to focus and get the job done? (See what I did there?)

Nicky teaching Jess how to become a perfect con-artist.

I loved the first part of this movie. It reminded me of the "Oceans" movies because of the master brains who does these smooth thefts. The other half is also good, but not as good. The good thing about this movie is that you never know how it's going to end. And I really liked the chemistry between Will and Margot.

* 6/10 *
(And I know this is under the category "Comedy", but it's not like an "ha-ha"-comedy, so don't expect to laugh your butt off from this movie. I know the risks of thinking it's a plain comedy and getting something "dramatic" instead.. It can kill the movie entirely..)

You should also check out the episode of "The Graham Norton Show" where Will and Margot is on (also Hugh Jackman and David Beckham). It's an hilarious episode, so I put it on here so you can check it out if you want to.

The Skeleton Twins (2014)

IMDB: "The Skeleton Twins"
I was in the mood for a real comedy and when you see a movie with SNL legends like Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig you expect awkward and lots of laughs! It's not a "ha-ha" movie, it's more serious than funny. But it was surprisingly good.

Milo and Maggie are twins, but they drift apart for some reason and both Maggie and Milo is in a pretty dark place when we first see them and they are reunited after 10 years apart. Milo gets to live at Maggies for a while and meets her husband, Lance (Luke Wilson) and the twins are getting to know each other again and all their secrets.

This was my favorite part of the movie if you want to check it out! I've always wanted to do this with someone and it being spontaneous!

Blow (2001)

IMDB: "Blow"
This is one of Johnny Depps best movies. I'm sorry to say that (in my opinion) he doesn't make good movies anymore. He's been one of my favorites for years, but after "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest" (which should've been the last one!) he just went downhill. And it kills me to say that. But yeah, back to this! THIS is FANTASTIC

This is the true story of George Jung (Johnny Depp) who was The biggest cocaine-dealer in the 70's. It all started with him and his pal Tuna (Ethan Suplee) smoking weed and then got the opportunity to sell and make big bucks. After he understood he would make even bigger bucks he started selling cocaine and became very good at what he did. He met new people, made new partners and lived life to the fullest. Big house, girls, drugs, all he could ask for! Do you how the story ends? If you don't (or if you aldready do), WATCH IT!

Derek (Paul Reubens) and George celebrating with a drink after an easy job well done!

This is my favorite scene. Just because of the music, the hair, the Depp..

Forrest Gump (1994)

IMDB: "Forrest Gump"
On IMDBs Top 250 Movies
This movie is ranked at #15 on IMDB's Top 250 Movies, but it's higher on my list. This movie is so sweet, funny and heartwarming. Tom Hanks will melt your heart as Forrest. Forrest Gump.

"My momma always said: Life was like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get."

Forrest Gump is a special boy. His IQ is lower then average and he has braces on his legs. But his "momma says" that he is no different than anybody else. But by the looks of the life that you see him living, he's one special man because of his "easy" look on life.

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Even though he's not intelligent, Forrest has a life filled with incredible experiences. He meets a lot of famous people throughout history, he becomes a legend all by himself by not trying, just being himself.

"Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far. Far, far way from here."

There's also a special girl in his life (except his momma, who is played by Sally Field): Jenny (Robin Wright). Her love keeps him going even though he doesn't see her that often when they grow up.

All the adventures he goes through are all from history as we know it, so it's a lot of fun watching Forrest braided into the story. I don't wanna "spoil" all the things he does, but I can almost guarantee that you'll love it. Tom Hanks is one of the best actors and this is one of his most lovable characters.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 (2014)

IMDB: "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1"
You have no clue how exciting I was to see this movie! The movie is a bit slow sometimes, but it's part 1 of 2, so it's sort of like Harry Potters 7th movie - real slow, but building up to something mindblowingly awesome! (I hope..)

Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in the middle and a whole bunch of new characters we meet in this film. Gotta say that I'm a little disappointed about Natalie Dormers character Cressida. On the poster she looks totally badass.. but in the movie she is a director?? Since I haven't read the books (yet), I was imagining she was some sort of a G.I. Jane type (since she's standing with a massive machine gun in her hands on the poster..). Elden Henson is also a part of the film-crew, such a cutie. I haven't seen him since "The Butterfly Effect", so that was kinda fun!

The Hunger Games is over, and during the last Hunger Games where the best of the best had to fight each other, Katniss "got kidnappet" and rescued and the last thing we got to know was that District 12 was no more.

Peeta (Hutcherson) is gone, Gale (Hemsworth) is back, President Snow (Sutherland) is a bastard and Katniss is pissed! This movie is about Katniss having to be "The Mockingjay" for all the districts that are left and will fight for her. She will be the face of hope and all that is good - the absolute opposite of President Snow who wants to kill everyone. Because violence solves everything, right?

Katniss and her family is gathered in District 13 together with President Alma Coin (Moore), Plutarch Heavensbee (Hoffman) and Haymitch (Harrelson) and now they have to come up with a plan to rescue Peeta who's in Snows captivity and how to end this war. But as the season of his name, he won't melt that easily.

Plutarch and President Alma Coin trying to wrap their head around how to stop this war that is on its way!

Even though I'm sad that Philip Seymour Hoffman died this year, I'm happy that he got to film the rest of this film. He was a great actor. Rest in peace.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013)

IMDB: "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"
There's nothing like the feeling when you've waited one entire year for the sequel and it was even more awesome then you'd think! I even liked this one better the the first one! Imagine that! And I haven't read the books (yet) so I had NO clue what to expect for the plot of the movie (no, I don't watch trailers..) so this blew my mind!

Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Effie (Elizabeth Banks) and Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence)
giving their tribute before going into the Hunger Games.. again..

The Hunger Games is held every year. And President Snow (Donald Sutherland) wants Katniss out of the game.. literally. So this time, he's arranged so that all the winners from previous Hunger Games has to attend and fight for their lives. Some people think that's unfair, because you were told that if you won Hunger Games, you'd never be bothered about the game ever again. I would be pretty mad too, wouldn't you? And you'll win the game easier if you have allies and people who like you. Katniss doesn't care if people like her, so you could imagine how "up for the task" she is about that!

Here is Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) and Katniss on stage before the big game.
I never use this word, but he is so.. fabulous! (In an Hunger Games'y way!)

I'd probably be as pissed as Johanna (Jena Malone) is if I'd have to go back in the Hunger Games..

LOVE IT!!!

The Hunger Games (2012)

IMDB: "The Hunger Games"

I had no idea what to expect when I decided to go to the movies and see this. But it didn't take long til I felt like this was my new "Harry Potter"! And this is also where I fell in love with the brilliant, the fearless Jennifer Lawrence!

Katniss Everdeen showing off her bow and arrow skills!

The world is split up into "districts". District 1 is the "best", if you live there, you're probably rich and got a pretty good life! But.. if you live in District 12.. well, then you live like Katniss Everdeen. You're the outcast. Every year The Hunger Games is held. Sort of like the Olympics.. but not.. Because in this game, one of each gender from each district are picked out and the rules are very easy: Don't get killed. Be the last one to survive and bam! You've won! Katniss' sister gets picked, so being the good big sister that she is Katniss volunteers and now she's in the games. Good thing she knows a thing or two with a bow and arrow!

Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) is District 12's .. spokesperson?
Whatever she is, her costume and .. everything is weird. (And kinda cool..!)

Katniss is also never afraid of speaking her mind. So if she feels like something is wrong, she'll let you know! So you can imagine what the organizers of the game reacts when she comes on.

Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson)
Cinna is their "stylist", Haymitch is an earlier contestant and their mentor and Peeta is the other contestant in D12.

Gone Girl (2014)

IMDB: "Gone Girl"
On IMDBs Top 250 Movies
When I saw this movie, I was sure who did it. Then not. Then I knew! Then I didn't.. But then!! I still didn't know who did it. This movie is one of the best thrillers I've ever seen, and the movie with the most twists and turns! When I now recommend this movie to people I have to say: "Don't let Ben Affleck stop you from watching this movie. Because 1: David Fincher made it (and that should already sell you) and 2: Ben Affleck is actually good in this film! If you're gonna let him stop you from watching this masterpiece, then .. well. You're an idiot!

Nick (Affleck) and Amy (Rosamund Pike) falling madly in love..

The story is about Nick Dunne and his wife "Amazing Amy". One day when Nick comes home from work he finds his house all empty, shuttered glass and blood stains. Something is wrong and his perfect wife is missing. The police comes over and starts investigating and all clues leads to Nick. But Nick swears he's innocent. Because can a case be that easy?

Nick is searching for his beautiful wife, even though all hope seems lost.

Don Jon (2013)

IMDB: "Don Jon"
I think this is a movie that you either "hate" or love. For me, this is straight-up love. "Don Jon" is one of my favorite movies through history. The brilliant Joseph Gordon-Levitt is behind this masterpiece, and the the choices he made with editing, the music choices, the cast and the development through-out the movie is pure genius in my eyes!

Joseph behind the camera. I would trust this man any day after watching this movie.

"There's only a few thins I really care about in life.
My body. My pad. My ride. My family. My church. My boys. My girls. My porn."
Don Jon

Jon (Joseph) is a real "Don Juan". He takes care of himself, his family, goes to church, goes out with his boys and "scoring chicks" left and right. But if there's something he loves more than anything else, it's his porn.

He finds the perfect girl, Barbara (Scarlett Johansson) and everything is perfect. But.. even she can't stop him from watching his beloved ladies on the screen. What will make him get out of his routine?

The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014)

IMDB: "The Hundred-Foot Journey"
What an adorable movie! I'm not the biggest fan of movies about food, or Indian food for that matter, but this movie made me crave Indian food! And Manish Dayal.. I disappeared in his eyes. I think I missed some of the plot when he was staring at someone or something. The best thing about the entire movie was the difference between Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren) and Papa (Om Puri). Every time they approached each other I laughed because I knew something funny would happen.

Madame Mallory tasting Hassans dish. She has a Michelin star, so her standards are pretty high!

Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon) and Hassan. She also has those eyes you just loose yourself in!

Papa and his family lives in India where they have their own Indian restaurant. A tragic family loss happens and they decide to try their luck in Europa. When they're in France, the breaks on their car stops working and a local Marguerite helps them down to this sweet little town where they can get the car fixed. On the way, Papa falls in love with a building and decides that that's their new restaurant. The thing is.. Hundred feet away, there's a Michelin French restaurant and the Madame Mallroy is pretty.. "traditionally French" (if that's a thing?). Madame Mallory declares war, but Papa has something Madame doesn't have: Hassan!

The Lion King (1994)

IMDB: "The Lion King"
On IMDBs 250 Top Movies
I remember watching this movie as a little girl at the cinema and I refused (*spoiler alert*) to leave the room if Mufasa didn't come back. I cried rivers.. and I still do! There's no doubt that there's a big spot for The Lion King in my heart and it'll always be one of my favorite movies, along with "The Little Mermaid", "Aladdin" and "Beauty and the Beast".

Simba is born and his father, Mufasa is passing on all his knowledge on life. Mufasa has a brother too, Scar. Not the sweet, cool uncle that many has, but a bitter lion who wants Pride Rock for himself and he does whatever he can to obtain that power. Simba is forced to run away from home and somewhere out in the African land he meets Timon and Pumba who becomes his new best friends. His former bestfriend, Nala finds him and tries to convince Simba to come back and take back what's rightfully his. Will he take matter into his own paws?

Nala and Simba, best friends forever!
Scar and Mufasa.. not the bestest of friends.. or even family..

Timon and Pumba's motto is: "Hakuna Matata" which means "No worries"!
