We Bought a Zoo (2011)

IMDB: "We Bought a Zoo"
This movie is one of the cutest, coziest movies I've ever seen! If you're looking for a feel-good movie for just you, your friends or your family, look no further! Matt Damon is awesome and he's no less awesome here. He's a little sweeter than he is in "The Departed" or the "Bourne" movies, but still Matt Damon! And another reason for watching this film: Scarlett Johansson!

This film is based on a true story about Benjamin Mee when he bought a zoo (hence the title). His wife died, his son is rebelling and he quits his job because his was sick of being treated with sympathy.
He wants a new start, a new story and that's when he finds a perfect home in the countryside. But it's not just a house, it's Rosemoor Wildlife Park (in real life, it's called Dartmoor Zoo). He meets the zoo-keepers and tries to get this zoo back to life, because it was shut-down two years before. So he has to make some tough decisions whilst he's trying to make his kids happy, especially his son who is does not like living there.

The Departed (2006)

IMDB: "The Departed"
On IMDBs Top 250 Movies
This movie contains so many awesome actors you wouldn't believe! And the plot it so twisted I don't want to give so much of it away. All I can say, besides a little bit of the story, is: watch it!

Jack Nicholson is The mafia boss of South Boston, Leonardo DiCaprio is undercover, Matt Damon is a corrupt cop, Mark Wahlberg is a jerk and Martin Scorsese is the genius behind it all!

I really don't know what else to say, because you should just see it for yourself! There's more about the movie on IMDB and it's on IMDB's Top 250 Movies.

WALL·E (2008)

IMDB: "Wall-E"
On IMDBs Top 250 Movies
This is a solid proof that Disney can do SO much with such little dialogue. I have a friend who says this is the most romantic movie she's ever seen, and I can't argue with her. Wall-E is cute, charming, adorable and awesome!

It's way into the future (2805 to be exact) and the Earth is so littered and ruined it's not even livable anymore. The humans are gone and are now living on a ship beyond the stars, but there's one little guy living on Earth, and that's Wall·E. He's one of the robots who was put on Earth to clean it up and the only one left standing.
One day, he discovers a spaceship coming down and leaving a beautiful white robot called Eve. They meet, but she's a little rough around the edges. He shows her what he found, a living plant and that's when it all starts. Somehow he ends up on the spaceship and him and Eve have to try and protect this plant who is the savior for the humans.

So if you're looking for a date-movie, a good time with your family and friends, you should embark yourself on this magical love-journey.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

IMDB: "Mad Max: Fury Road"
I haven't seen the old classic Mad Max movies by George Miller (yet), and that's because over-the-top-manly movies are not my kind of thing. I love action and all that awesome stuff, but you know.. I have my limits. So you can easily say I only watched this movie because Tom Hardy is in it. Yes, I am that kind of girl. But it has led to hundreds of cool movies because of it (not just by Hardy).

Mad Max Rockatansky earlier portraied by Mel Gibson (and others), nowadays, the hard(y)core, Tom!

Max is a little mad, he's lived in the desert for too long it seems. His mind is playing tricks on him from the past. He is somehow "kidnapped" by the War People and this is were Nux (Nicholas Hoult) comes in. Nux is what you call a hands down crazy person. They all are, but this guy is really good at it!

One of the War People, Furiosa (Charlize Theron) has taken the leader Immortan Joes (Hugh Keays-Byrne) wifes (or trophies, whatever you want to call them) and now she's taking them to a safe place somewhere beyond the desert. Joe is not happy about that, so he goes after them to get them back.

And there you have it. A mind blowing chase. Crazy people following mad people. Things get blown up, whiped out and destroyed. I wouldn't even dare to think how this movie would have been if Michael Bay directed it..

Furiosa was my favorite, and it felt like the movie was about her to be honest. Max was like "the third character", because both Furiosa and Nux stole the show!! Nux was so over-the-top-suicidal and perfectly mad! I was so surprised by how much I liked it and the more I think of it, the cooler it got.

Fast & Furious 7 (2015)

IMDB: "Fast & Furious 7"

The movie we've all been waiting for! Honestly, these are not my favorite movies. They're alright, but not quite my taste. Cars are cool, but I'm no motor-head. Reason I started watching these films: Vin Diesel. Reasons why I continued: Michelle Rodriguez and Paul Walker

The team is back, or as Dom (Vin Diesel) so often says: Family. Brian (Paul Walker) and his Mia (Jordana Brewster) and son are living the domestic life, but Brian "misses the bullets". And as we saw in the ending of "Fast & Furious 6" Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) comes back for revenge of his brother, Owen (Luke Evans). They meet Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russel) and he wants help finding "Gods Eye" who can track anyone, anywhere at any time!! A pretty useful tool to have if you're looking for someone! Specially when you have to find Shaw before he finds you

This is the last movie Paul Walker did. He almost finished the entire movie, but sadly not all of it. After he died, his brothers Caleb and Cody and other stunt-doubles finished the movie for him. And I have to say that they did a good job. I never thought I would cry when watching any of these movies, but in the end, I bawled like a baby.

This was a worthy and perfect ending for the franchise and for the late Paul Walker. And I hear rumours that they're making another one?! For Paul's sake.. Stop. Let him have this ending.

Focus (2015)

IMDB: "Focus"
I'm just happy Will Smith is back after being in "After Earth" which is one of the most terrible movies I've ever seen! And I'm certainly not complaining when Margot Robbie is on the big screen. That woman is breathtakingly beautiful and she can act!

Nicky (Will) is a brilliant con-artist and he meets this gorgeous woman, Jess (Margot) who turns out is trying to con him. When she finds out who he is, she desperately wants in on his "business" and a partnership is made. She is very good at what she does, but for some reason Nicky has to let her go.

After a couple of years, Nicky is "doing some business" and all off a sudden Jess shows up and throws him off his game. Will he be able to focus and get the job done? (See what I did there?)

Nicky teaching Jess how to become a perfect con-artist.

I loved the first part of this movie. It reminded me of the "Oceans" movies because of the master brains who does these smooth thefts. The other half is also good, but not as good. The good thing about this movie is that you never know how it's going to end. And I really liked the chemistry between Will and Margot.

* 6/10 *
(And I know this is under the category "Comedy", but it's not like an "ha-ha"-comedy, so don't expect to laugh your butt off from this movie. I know the risks of thinking it's a plain comedy and getting something "dramatic" instead.. It can kill the movie entirely..)

You should also check out the episode of "The Graham Norton Show" where Will and Margot is on (also Hugh Jackman and David Beckham). It's an hilarious episode, so I put it on here so you can check it out if you want to.

Big Hero 6 (2014)

IMDB: "Big Hero 6"
I saw the trailer a hundred times where I work, so much that I became sick of it. When I saw it.. it blew my mind!! I fell in love with Baymax like I did with Wall-E! And what is the coolest about it all: It's both Disney and Marvel!

Hiro (Ryan Potter - (Please, Ryan.. Have a kid and name him Harry!)
and Baymax (Scott Adsit) getting to know each other strengths.
Hiro loves to enter his robot in robot fights, because although he's young and his robot is a tiny, smiling, non-threatening little guy, Hiro is a really smart kid. Spoilers: He dominates!

His brother, Tadashi (Daniel Henney) is also pretty smart and he attends to San Fransokyo Tech where he builds and invents things and this is where we meet all his friends, but also Baymax!

Fred (T.J. Miller), Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez), Hiro,
Go Go (Jamie Chung) and Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.).
Something horrible happens so Hiro wants revenge, and somehow ends up with Baymax and they start investigating. Luckily they get some help from Tadashis friends and they all become super heroes!

I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm just going to say that if you love Disney and/or Marvel (who doesn't..) you should check out this movie! Like I said, I was sceptical when I started out, but after "5 seconds" I was all in! This movie is beautiful, funny, awesome and heartwarming!

The Skeleton Twins (2014)

IMDB: "The Skeleton Twins"
I was in the mood for a real comedy and when you see a movie with SNL legends like Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig you expect awkward and lots of laughs! It's not a "ha-ha" movie, it's more serious than funny. But it was surprisingly good.

Milo and Maggie are twins, but they drift apart for some reason and both Maggie and Milo is in a pretty dark place when we first see them and they are reunited after 10 years apart. Milo gets to live at Maggies for a while and meets her husband, Lance (Luke Wilson) and the twins are getting to know each other again and all their secrets.

This was my favorite part of the movie if you want to check it out! I've always wanted to do this with someone and it being spontaneous!

Mamma Mia! (2008)

IMDB: "Mamma Mia!"
This is one of my guilty pleasure movie. I've grown up with ABBA, so I felt like I sort of had to watch it when it came out. And just because of the music and the location where the movie is filmed (Skopelos and Skihatos) this is a movie I watch whenever its on. The movie isn't great and certainly not the acting, but it's ok for one of those days you don't want to use your brain.

Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is getting married and she wants to know who her father is. Problem is that it can be 1 of 3 guys: Bill (Stellan SkarsgÄrd), Sam (Pierce Brosnan) or Harry (Colin Firth). So you can easily say that Donna (Meryl Streep) is surprised and confused when she finds out that all of them are on "her island" where she runs her exotic (but broken) hotel.

Sophie tries to persuade Bill, Sam and Harry not to find her mother because it's sort of a secret that they're there.
And in 2014 I saw "Mamma Mia!" on Broadway in New York and I absolutely loved it!!

Blow (2001)

IMDB: "Blow"
This is one of Johnny Depps best movies. I'm sorry to say that (in my opinion) he doesn't make good movies anymore. He's been one of my favorites for years, but after "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest" (which should've been the last one!) he just went downhill. And it kills me to say that. But yeah, back to this! THIS is FANTASTIC

This is the true story of George Jung (Johnny Depp) who was The biggest cocaine-dealer in the 70's. It all started with him and his pal Tuna (Ethan Suplee) smoking weed and then got the opportunity to sell and make big bucks. After he understood he would make even bigger bucks he started selling cocaine and became very good at what he did. He met new people, made new partners and lived life to the fullest. Big house, girls, drugs, all he could ask for! Do you how the story ends? If you don't (or if you aldready do), WATCH IT!

Derek (Paul Reubens) and George celebrating with a drink after an easy job well done!

This is my favorite scene. Just because of the music, the hair, the Depp..
